CCCG Donates $28,975 to Super Typhoon Haiyan Victims, PH

Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Guam President George Lai (center above photo) presented a check in the amount of $28, 975.00 to Ms. Chita Blaise, Chief Executive Officer of the American Red Cross Guam Chapter on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 in the CCCG Conference Room.  Speeches were given by CCCG President George Lai, Ms. Chita Blaise and Consul Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian of the Philippine Consulate General on Guam.  Many members of the CCCG Board of Directors were present to witness the check presentation.

Ms. Chita Blaise thanked the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Guam for the generous donation and she explained that the donation would be used in various ways to support the victims of Super-Typhoon Haiyan, the biggest recorded typhoon in history, that devastated parts of the Philippines in November, 2013. Present among the people at the check presentation included former First Lady Joann Camacho, American Red Cross Guam Chapter’s First Vice Chairman Marcos Fong, officers of the CCCG Board of Directors, various committee chairpersons and representatives of major donors. CCCG Member Dr. Thomas Shieh served as Co-Leader of the Medical Mission from Guam to Cebu in late November, 2013.
